CHICK-FIL-A SPIRIT NIGHT The Kindergarten Class will host a Chick-Fil-A Spirit Night on
Thursday, November 9 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Chick-fil-A D’Iberville in the Promenade. Chick-
fil-A will donate a percentage of all sales to our school. Vote for your favorite teacher, and the
teacher with the most votes at the end of the night will win a Chick-fil-A Party. Please plan to join
us for a family night out while supporting our school.
VETERANS DAY CELEBRATION On Friday, November 10, at 8:00 a.m. in the cafeteria, we
will hold a celebration honoring our veterans. We invite veterans, family and friends to join the
students for prayer and patriotic songs. Please send in a picture of individuals who have served or
are presently serving in one of the armed forces to be included in our honor display. Pictures are due
by Wednesday, November 9.
SAFE ENVIRONMENT TRAINING A final Safe Environment Training for parents will be held
on Monday, November 13 at 9:00 a.m. in the library. Any parent who has not attended a Safe
Environment Training session is asked to attend.
THANKSGIVING LUNCHEON SAVE-THE-DATE Our annual Thanksgiving Luncheon will
be held on Friday, November 17. Parents, siblings and grandparents are invited to join us in a
traditional Thanksgiving meal. The cost of lunch is $3.75 per student, $3.75 per guest child, and $5
per guest adult. A reservation form is attached to this newsletter. Please return the form by
Thursday, November 8, 2017.
THANKSGIVING FOOD COLLECTION One of our community service projects each year is
the collection of Thanksgiving food items to assist the St. Vincent de Paul Society with their
Thanksgiving Food Boxes given to those in need within our community. We ask the children to
bring in food items Monday, November 6 through Friday, November 10. The classes are asked to
bring the following food items:

BAZAAR VOLUNTEER THANK YOU DINNER In appreciation of the volunteers’ hard work,
Sacred Heart Church will host a dinner for all those who volunteered at the Bazaar. The dinner will
be held on Tuesday, November 21, at 6:00 p.m. in the parish hall. Please RSVP by November 13 to
Kathy Villarreal at the church office (228-392-4526) if you plan to attend.
NOVEMBER TUITION PAYMENTS –November tuition payments are due November 1. If
tuition is not paid by the 10

THE SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR IS COMING!! – Our annual Scholastic Book Fair will be held November 14-18 in the
library. The theme is “Bookaneer Book Fair – Where Books are a Treasure!”. Mrs. Ziz will have “Pirate and Treasure
Finding “activities to go along with the fair. See the flyer attached to this newsletter.
#iGIVECATHOLIC CAMPAIGN Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary will be participating in the #iGive Catholic
Campaign. The campaign is an online giving event for people across the nation to come together to raise as much money as
possible for Catholic parishes, schools and ministries, including the Diocese of Biloxi, on one day: #Giving Tuesday,
November 28, 2016. Secure, tax-deductible donations will be accepted on iGiveCatholic.org during a 24-hour period. Please
Support our School by going to www.iGiveCatholic.org, selecting our school and donating $25 or more. All funds raised will
benefit our school.

we participated in activities for our “Wild West Family Reading Night” on Thursday, November 2.
Congratulations to the Todaro Family Texas Deer Meat Chili,” which was the Cook-off winner and to the Todaro family,
who took home our “Chili” trophy! Thanks to all who came and participated in this event to promote literacy in our school!
